[Remote] Junior 3D Artist (Props, Structures, Set Dressing)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Soundscape is building immersive, music-driven worlds at the intersection of gaming, live events, and virtual reality. They are hiring a Junior 3D Artist focused on props, structures, and environmental set dressing to help scale rich, stylized virtual environments in Unreal Engine 5.
Responsibilities
- Create high-quality 3D props, architectural elements, and structural assets for immersive environments
- Design modular kits that can scale across large worlds efficiently
- Contribute to set dressing and environmental storytelling in stylized and semi-realistic worlds
- Optimize assets for real-time performance across VR and console platforms
- Work closely with graphics engineers and environment leads inside Unreal Engine 5
- Continuously improve pipeline efficiency through AI-enabled tools and automation
Skills
- 1–3 years of experience in 3D modeling (game development preferred)
- Strong portfolio showcasing props, hard-surface assets, and environmental set dressing
- Proficiency in Blender, Maya, or equivalent modeling tools
- Experience with Substance Painter/Designer or similar texturing tools
- Understanding of topology, UV layout, LOD workflows, and performance constraints
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine 5 asset pipelines
- Basic understanding of Nanite, Lumen, modular environment workflows
- Ability to import, light-test, and validate assets in-engine
- Use AI tools to accelerate concepting, texture generation, iteration, and optimization
- Understand procedural and parametric modeling approaches
- Are comfortable integrating generative tools into production workflows
- Think in terms of systems, scalability, and automation
- Constantly experiment with new tools that increase velocity without sacrificing quality
