[Remote] IT Project Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. IBSS is seeking an IT Project Manager for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, managing and closing of IT projects supporting the Northeast Fisheries Science Center. This remote position requires significant time management and organizational skills, along with experience in Agile methodologies and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Plans and implements projects
- Defines scope, goals and deliverables
- Defines tasks and required resources
- Coordinates the project team
- Creates schedule and project timelines
- Tracks project deliverables
- Identifies and coordinates assessment of project resources with NEFSC Project Management Chief
- Develops a IT QA Plan/Process and leads quality assurance for their projects
- Actively manages project risk (threats and opportunities)
- Monitors and reports on project progress as well as problems and solutions
- Implements and manages change when necessary to meet project requirements
- Evaluates and assesses the results and maintains searchable system for PM Lessons Learned (what worked, what didn't, and why)
- Communicate project management impacts on baseline infrastructure systems governed by the NEFSC
- Work in concurrence with the NEFSC Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to maintain and implement security procedures within projects
- Deliver and maintain the NEFSC-IT Confluence Space in the areas of project and change management
- Create and/or maintain a project standards and governance library
- Promote the use of Agile practices throughout the NEFSC and serve as a peer educator and coach to all project teams
Skills
- BS/BA in Computer Science or a related field and 5+ yrs experience in IT project management or a related field
- Experience leading teams
- Experience successfully completing the project management life cycle
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Detail oriented and organized with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated success working in a team environment that includes flexibility working with a team in an organization that is dispersed; coordinating with the work of others; facilitating interactions among team members with diverse skill sets
- Agile Development Methodology experience or similar methodology desired
