[Remote] Human Resources Generalist
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Prelude Services is a company seeking a Human Resources Generalist to perform HR-related duties at a professional level. The role involves responsibilities in benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, and compliance with employment laws.
Responsibilities
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to HR Director or management
- Administers benefit plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions. Reconciles benefits statements
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
- Implements new hire orientation, employee offboarding, employee engagement and employee recognition programs
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the HR Director
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, etc
- Conducts audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Maintains a safe work environment and exhibits safe work practices
- Accountable for information contained in Employee Handbook including adhering to the E-mail and Internet policies
- Conforms to Prelude licensing compliance policies
- Performs all duties in compliance with all applicable federal and state rules and regulations, policies, and procedures

Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems
- At least one year of human resource management experience, preferred
- PHR and or SHRM-CP certification preferred
