[Remote] Human Resources Generalist
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. SHR Consulting Group is a small business specializing in federal IT services across various government sectors. They are seeking a detail-oriented HR Generalist to support HR operations throughout the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and benefits administration.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Operations Manager and hiring managers to coordinate recruitment, hiring, and onboarding activities
- Manage employee offboarding, including separation documentation and access coordination
- Maintain employee records and required company documentation to support business operations, customer requirements, and compliance initiatives
- Serve as the primary HR liaison with ADP TotalSource, coordinating employee updates and maintaining HRIS records
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits at SHR, including benefits enrollment, qualifying life events, open enrollment, and employee benefit inquiries
- Support personnel security administration, including onboarding and offboarding access requests, security acknowledgments, and coordination of personnel security documentation
- Support company security training initiatives and employee education by coordinating required training, maintaining training records, and assisting with compliance efforts
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and operational efficiency
- Support employee engagement initiatives and other HR and operational projects as assigned
- Perform additional responsibilities as business needs evolve
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 2–5 years of experience in Human Resources or HR Operations
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information
- Customer-focused with the ability to build effective working relationships
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to support changing business needs
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and eager to learn new systems and processes
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms
- Experience working with a PEO, preferably ADP TotalSource, or the ability to quickly learn new HRIS platforms
- Benefits administration experience is preferred
- Experience supporting compliance or regulated environments is a plus
- Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) is a plus
- Preferred experience performing HR for government consulting companies
