[Remote] Financial Aid Coordinator (LTE)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Madison Area Technical College is seeking a Financial Aid Coordinator to join their Financial Aid Office in a Limited Term Employment position through December of 2027. This role is responsible for overseeing the administration and compliance of federal financial aid programs, ensuring accurate processing and reporting of student aid.
Responsibilities
- Manages the electronic import of student financial aid records by processing Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs) and resolving errors to ensure accurate data integration
- Manages the electronic import of NSLDS history files and transfer monitor files to ensure financial aid requirements are met
- Oversees financial aid system communications by reviewing and processing regulatory file messages to maintain compliance and data integrity
- Oversees public and private funding programs by coordinating aid disbursement, troubleshooting eligibility concerns and ensuring compliance with funding requirements
- Collaborates with institutional stakeholders by working with relevant units to reconcile funding removals, troubleshoot system issues and streamline financial aid operations to ensure fiscal accountability and accurate transaction entries
- Resolves complex financial aid inquiries by responding to escalated concerns via phone, email and written correspondence to provide clear and accurate information to students, staff or leadership
- Ensures compliance with financial aid regulations by testing system updates, identifying potential impacts on processes and recommending necessary adjustments
- Contributes to an inclusive, equitable and supportive environment where everyone at the institution feels valued, respected and empowered to reach their full potential
- Adheres to college policies, directives and work rules while maintaining a commitment to the college’s mission, vision and values
- Performs other related duties within the scope of the position as required for the efficient operation of the division and to support institutional objectives
Skills
- Knowledge of federal, state and institutional financial aid regulations
- Knowledge of financial reconciliation processes and best practices
- Skill in data analysis and interpretation
- Skill in using and troubleshooting financial aid management systems
- Skill in analyzing financial aid records, interpreting regulatory changes and implementing process improvements
- Ability to manage multiple processes, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Skill in engaging positively with all populations and communities, contributing to a safe and inclusive learning and work environment
- Skill in effectively and respectfully communicating with others
- Associate degree or equivalent working experience
- 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Direct financial aid experience
