[Remote] Director, Marketing
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Sequen is a company that provides an integrated platform for ranking models and infrastructure for production. They are seeking a Director of Marketing to own the marketing function, drive demand generation, and lead branding efforts while shaping the company's overall strategy.
Responsibilities
- Own the marketing function end to end: strategy, budget, P&L, team, and results
- Build and execute the go-to-market narrative for a category-defining AI platform selling into the enterprise
- Drive demand generation and pipeline for high-ACV enterprise deals — your north star is qualified pipeline and revenue influence, not vanity metrics
- Lead positioning, messaging, and brand across all channels, partnering closely with the CEO and CRO to sharpen how we tell the Sequen story
- Build the content engine: thought leadership, customer proof points, case studies, and executive-level collateral that moves seven- and eight-figure deals forward
- Own field and event marketing, including executive dinners, industry conferences, and account-based programs targeting F500 buyers
- Develop ABM strategy in lockstep with sales, focused on a named-account universe of enterprise retailers, marketplaces, and travel companies
- Stand up marketing operations, attribution, and reporting infrastructure from the ground up
- Recruit, lead, and scale a high-performing marketing team as the company grows
- Serve as a key member of the executive team, shaping company strategy beyond marketing
Skills
- Have 8+ years of B2B marketing experience, including 4+ years leading marketing at a high-growth enterprise software or AI company
- Have built and scaled marketing functions from early stage through hypergrowth — ideally Series A through Series C
- Understand enterprise sales motions with long cycles, multiple stakeholders, and high ACVs, and know how marketing accelerates them
- Have owned a marketing P&L and can speak fluently to budget allocation, CAC, pipeline contribution, and ROI
- Are a world-class storyteller who can translate deep technical capability into clear, compelling business value for C-suite buyers
- Have deep experience marketing technical products to technical executives and organizations — CTOs, CIOs, VPs of Engineering, and data science leaders — and know how to earn credibility with builders
- Excel at account-based marketing and demand generation targeting Fortune 500 enterprises
- Are a player-coach: equally comfortable setting strategy in the boardroom and writing the first draft of a landing page
- Take full ownership of your work, navigate ambiguity effectively, and proactively overcome obstacles to deliver results
- Thrive in fast-paced, rapidly evolving environments and have ideally built programs from 0 to 1
- Have a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or comparable experience
- Have marketed AI/ML, data infrastructure, or personalization technology
- Have experience selling into retail, e-commerce, marketplaces, or travel verticals
- Have sold or marketed technical products into technical buying committees — engineering, ML/AI, and platform organizations at large enterprises
- Have led category creation or repositioning efforts at a venture-backed startup
- Have experience supporting product-led narratives alongside enterprise sales-led motions
Benefits
- High-impact executive role shaping the trajectory of a hypergrowth AI company
- The opportunity to define the category narrative for frontier ranking intelligence
- Direct partnership with the founding team and a seat at the executive table
- Very competitive salary + meaningful equity
