[Remote] Director Infrastructure Operations

They are seeking an experienced Infrastructure & Operations Director to lead the deployment and optimization of distributed modular computing infrastructure across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead site selection, deployment, installation, and commissioning of modular data center infrastructure across multiple U.S. locations
• Oversee project execution to ensure on-time delivery while maintaining compliance with utility, regulatory, and grid requirements
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve operational procedures (SOPs) to maximize system uptime and operational efficiency
• Manage infrastructure performance and ensure reliable 24/7 operations across distributed facilities
• Execute intelligent load management strategies during periods of energy price volatility and grid demand fluctuations
• Serve as the primary technical liaison between physical infrastructure, electrical systems, and proprietary AI-based scheduling software
• Provide remote leadership and operational oversight for field technicians, contractors, and maintenance teams
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, operational standards, and preventive maintenance programs
• Identify operational risks and rapidly resolve complex infrastructure issues under demanding project timelines
• Collaborate with executive leadership on infrastructure expansion strategy, operational scalability, and continuous improvement initiatives

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline
• 15+ years of experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction), industrial operations, mission-critical facilities, power generation, utility infrastructure, or data center operations
• Extensive experience managing large-scale infrastructure deployment projects
• Strong expertise in high-voltage electrical systems, power distribution, and industrial electrical infrastructure
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing geographically distributed operations and remote field teams
• Strong understanding of operational performance, asset reliability, and preventive maintenance strategies
• Proven ability to solve complex operational challenges in fast-paced environments
• Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to travel as required to support project deployment and operational oversight
• Experience with modular data centers or mission-critical infrastructure
• Background in energy technology, distributed energy systems, microgrids, battery storage, or utility operations
• Experience integrating hardware infrastructure with software platforms, automation systems, or AI-driven operational technologies
• Familiarity with intelligent energy management, demand response, or load balancing strategies
• Experience working within high-growth technology companies or startup environments
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or relevant industry certifications are a plus
