[Remote] Contract Administrator (Remote or Hybrid) (Engagement)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Latitude Legal is seeking an experienced Contract Administrator for a part-time to full-time engagement supporting their legal department. The role involves negotiating complex commercial agreements and partnering with project teams on electrical construction projects across the United States.
Responsibilities
- Review, draft, negotiate, and administer a wide variety of commercial agreements supporting complex design-build electrical construction projects nationwide
- Negotiate contracts with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors while balancing legal risk with business objectives
- Review and negotiate contract provisions involving scope of work, payment terms, indemnification, insurance, limitations of liability, warranties, default, and dispute resolution
- Partner closely with project managers, operations, procurement, and executive leadership to identify contractual risks and develop practical business solutions
- Support contract administration throughout the project lifecycle, including contract modifications, change orders, claims, backcharges, and other project-related contractual issues
- Monitor key contractual obligations, milestones, notices, deadlines, and deliverables to help ensure ongoing contract compliance
- Maintain organized contract databases, executed agreements, and document management systems
- Develop and enhance contract templates, clause libraries, negotiation playbooks, and contract administration processes
- Assist with document collection and production in response to subpoenas and other legal requests
- Provide day-to-day operational and administrative support to the General Counsel on a variety of legal matters as business needs evolve
Skills
- 5+ years of experience as a contract administrator, commercial contracts specialist, contract manager, construction paralegal, corporate paralegal, or similar legal professional
- Significant experience independently reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and administering sophisticated commercial contracts
- Experience negotiating agreements with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors
- Strong understanding of commercial risk allocation, including indemnification, limitation of liability, insurance, payment terms, dispute resolution, and contractual remedies
- Extensive experience redlining agreements in Microsoft Word and preparing contract revisions for negotiation
- Experience developing and maintaining contract templates, clause libraries, negotiation playbooks, and contract management processes
- Experience maintaining contract databases, document management systems, and organized contract files
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting a high-volume contracts function in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Outstanding professional references
- Demonstrated experience supporting construction, engineering, design-build, infrastructure, energy, industrial services, manufacturing, procurement, or other project-based businesses strongly preferred
- Familiarity with construction contracting concepts such as change orders, claims, backcharges, lien rights, bonding requirements, and project documentation is highly preferred
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, SharePoint); familiarity with AI contract review tools and Smartsheet is a plus
