[Remote] Chief Financial Officer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. RealTime eClinical Solutions is a leading enterprise-grade technology provider facilitating global clinical trials with a comprehensive eClinical platform. The Chief Financial Officer will lead accounting, financial forecasting, budgeting, and treasury functions while collaborating with the CEO and other executives to achieve key objectives and develop the finance organization.
Responsibilities
- Assess organizational performance against the annual budget and the company's long-term strategy
- Develop analytics, tools, and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO, board, and executive team; make actionable recommendations
- Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with the company's strategic plan, including consideration of potential acquisitions
- Evaluate, diligence, and integrate acquisitions (in particular, financial reporting and internal control systems)
- Collaborate with the Board to analyze leverage options, M&A opportunities, exit scenarios, and valuation calculations
- Select and manage outside auditors
- Own RealTime’s budgeting and forecasting processes, including monthly P&L (vs. budget), 13-week cash flow forecast, revenue and profits, and debt management
- Develop and maintain Board-level reporting, dashboards and KPI metrics
- Develop and execute analysis of various business initiatives
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and asset management, lead financing strategies and banking relationships
- Oversee pricing strategies in conjunction with the executive team to ensure inflationary increases in costs are offset by pricing adjustments
- Develop a practical perspective on the use of AI within the finance function
- Direct the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and function; supervise company’s finance staff, including directing the Controller effectively
- Ensure RealTime’s financial systems and technology infrastructure scale effectively to support continued growth
- Lead the integration of acquisitions, including harmonizing reporting, accounting systems and internal controls
Skills
- At least 12 years of financial management and operations experience
- Experience in a high-growth software or health tech company
- Strong grounding in GAAP, financial reporting, audit, cash management, and tax
- CFO at a PE-backed lower-middle-market or middle-market company with revenue of at least $20M
- Deep experience in software or tech-enabled businesses with recurring revenue
- Exposure to international markets or a global customer base
- Broad finance expertise across FP&A, revenue recognition, and tax
- Track record of implementing systems and processes that drive accountability and reporting
- Strong familiarity with financial systems and experience implementing technology infrastructure to support a scaling business
- Prior success in a PE-backed environment is required
- Seasoned and strategic, with a solid reputation for competence as an operations-savvy enabler
- Ability to translate data accurately into financial and operating metrics (KPIs)
- An entrepreneurial spirit and appreciation of a fast-changing PE environment
- Ability to lead an organization through transformation while introducing and propagating best practices
- Candid and direct communication style coupled with the ability to select and advocate for the best idea
- Comfortable engaging with a global customer base and the operational and financial complexities that entails
- Health tech or clinical research technology background strongly preferred
- Buy-side and sell-side transactional experience strongly preferred
