[Remote] Assistant Director, Marketing & Communications, Online Graduate Programs
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Santa Clara University is seeking an Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications for their Online Graduate Programs. This role is critical in supporting and executing marketing and communication strategies, overseeing digital and print marketing efforts, and enhancing student recruitment initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Produce, write, proof, edit and facilitate communications for Santa Clara internal channels such as emails, meetings, and project management between Santa Clara Online team and graduate school representatives
- Ensure that internal communication is clear and consistent – disseminating information, as needed, to all Santa Clara Online constituents
- Oversee the master editorial calendar (to be utilized for internal sharing as well as external social media and email campaigns) as well as report unique news events as they arise
- Collaborate with University Marketing & Communications to meet deadlines and create branded assets
- Track and report on the effectiveness of communication efforts across all channels, social media, and external releases to inform strategy and optimize messaging
- Produce, write, proof, edit and publish long-form content (such as press releases and blog posts) for all Santa Clara Online initiatives and external channels
- Oversee relationships and communication with various marketing vendors or cross-campus partners
- Manage, produce, update, and schedule all event reminder emails for all events relevant to online programs. Where necessary, conduct the same efforts for relevant, in-person programs
- Oversee the production and distribution of Vice Provost of Graduate Program materials such as VPGP update, social media efforts, and more
- Develop and publish content on web pages, social media platforms, and more; identify and source appropriate visuals to support written content
- Ensure all Santa Clara Online programs are using the latest social platforms to interact and connect with current and former students, faculty, and staff
- Assist in overseeing all school-specific social platforms when launching online programs. Ensure schools are using consistent messaging and dissemination of information throughout all mediums
- Assist graduate school staff with updating and maintaining their websites
- Develop, implement and maintain web pages and websites, ranging from a specific event page to a department or center’s site using HTML, T4, and WordPress. Working with the Director, drive web usability that evaluates website structure, content, and accessibility to ensure user-friendly customer journey
- Utilizing various graduate school social media channels, create assets (imagery, captions, etc.), and monitor campaigns to ensure optimal performance
- In collaboration with the Director of Marketing & Communications, design and lead marketing strategy plans for the promotion, recruitment, and growth of the school’s online programs on the local, national, and global stage
- Develop and implement marketing strategies alongside Director and school-specific representatives
- Facilitate web creation, web design, and user experience for emerging online program sites and landing pages
- Work directly with program directors to create, implement and execute marketing plans to support their goals across admissions, career services, and program management
- Document and promote successes of students, alumni, faculty, and online programming
- Develop and execute targeted email marketing campaigns to engage prospective students and support recruitment goals
- Monitor and report on marketing campaign performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to improve outcomes and ROI
- Assist with managing marketing budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources across campaigns and platforms
- In collaboration with the Director, market and showcase all emerging Santa Clara Online programs to potential students
- Collaborate with admissions and recruitment teams to align marketing strategies with recruitment and conversion objectives
- Ensure marketing campaign data metrics are provided to Santa Clara Online team and review the ROI for all external relationships (campus partners, etc)
- Execute the day-to-day recruitment activities including but not limited to outreach and recruitment, prospect and lead generation
- Represent Santa Clara Online at events on and off campus for prospective students, virtual events, undergraduate institutions, agency, and district partners
- Increase Santa Clara Online’s visibility through outreach programs, graduate school fairs, training seminars and presentations for recruitment of students from targeted communities
- Oversee effective recruiting events for online graduate programs and work in tandem with the various colleges and schools
- Own and execute lead nurturing journeys through email, text, and phone communications to guide prospective students through the application process
- Collaborate with recruitment partners, agencies, and CRM systems to optimize lead generation and tracking efforts for online graduate programs

- Bachelor's degree required in marketing, communications, or related field
- 3 years of work experience
