[Remote] ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The City of Amarillo is seeking an Administrative Assistant II to create and process Work Orders for vehicle repairs in Fleet Services. The role involves maintaining records, performing routine office duties, and assisting with customer inquiries in a professional manner.
Responsibilities
- Under supervision, assists in the preparation and maintenance of various records and reports, requiring use of math, personal computer and data entry skills
- Assists in performing routine office duties such as making copies, preparing routine correspondence and the like
- Maintains electronic and paper files in an orderly and organized manner, assists in records management activities and in preparing responses to Open Records requests
- Answers phones, answering questions and responding to complaints in a courteous and concise manner, directing the caller to the appropriate staff member for assistance, and/or taking and delivering detailed messages for the appropriate staff member
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Skills
- High School Diploma or its equivalent
- One year of office experience
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Good math skills
- Good communication skills
- Eagerness to learn
- Willing to take and follow instruction
- Adaptable to changes
- Willingness to accept responsibilities
- Ability to handle confidential information in the appropriate manner
- Ability and willingness to take selected City held PC classes as deemed necessary by supervisor
- Ability to operate standard office equipment including a calculator, copier, and multi-line telephone system
- Ability to use a computer for data entry, word processing and accounting purposes (Word/Excel preferred)
- Knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting, or recordkeeping
