Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner/APRN: 1099 Contractor (remote work available)

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including patient history, mental status exams, and risk evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating medication management, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic interventions.
• Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, adjusting dosages based on patient response and clinical guidelines.
• Provide telehealth consultations for patients across various settings, including outpatient clinics, assisted living facilities, and home care environments.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications.
• Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with primary care providers, specialists (e.g., neurologists for dementia or memory care), and case managers to coordinate comprehensive care plans.

Requirements

• Valid APRN license with certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or equivalent.
• Proven experience in behavioral health settings, including outpatient psychiatry, inpatient units, or crisis intervention. Possibility for new graduate contract if right fit.
• Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, CPT coding for billing purposes, and familiarity with ICD-10 coding standards.
• Experience working with diverse populations such as children, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
• Proficiency in telehealth platforms and EMR/EHR systems.
• Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, mental status exams, and physiological evaluations when necessary.
• Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively while maintaining HIPAA compliance; experience in case management or discharge planning is advantageous.
