Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute computational chemistry projects aimed at discovering and optimizing new molecules and materials. Develop and apply advanced quantum mechanical and molecular dynamics simulation methods. Interpret simulation results and collaborate with experimental chemists and material scientists to guide synthesis and characterization efforts. Oversee the integration of computational workflows with high-throughput screening and machine learning models. Mentor and guide junior computational chemists and research associates. Author high-impact publications and present research findings at international conferences. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. Contribute to the strategic direction of the computational chemistry group and foster a culture of innovation.
Requirements
Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry, Theoretical Chemistry, or a closely related discipline. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in computational chemistry, with a significant portion in a leadership or principal scientist role. Expertise in a wide range of computational chemistry software packages (e.g., Gaussian, ORCA, VASP, LAMMPS). Demonstrated experience in method development and application for complex chemical systems. Strong background in statistical mechanics, quantum chemistry, and solid-state theory. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++ for scripting and analysis. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences. Proven track record of successful project leadership and publication in leading scientific journals. Experience working in a hybrid or on-site laboratory environment is essential.
