The Undergraduate Colleges Business Office (UCBO), established in 2012, provides financial, human resources, academic personnel, facilities management, and related administrative services to all undergraduate colleges, which include the Provost offices, Writing/Core sequence programs, academic advising, student affairs and residence life units, as well as the Council of Provosts (COP). Under the general supervision of the HR Operations Manager, this key position for the Undergraduate Colleges Business Office (UCBO) serves as an HR Coordinator and is a member of the CBO-HR Team. The HR Coordinator provides human resources support for assigned colleges/units (i.e., for approximately 70 monthly/biweekly staff employees and 150-250 student employees). Duties include: recruiting and onboarding student and staff employees; managing multiple inquiries with attention to timekeeping and pay impacting deadlines; and working effectively in a collaborative team environment.

  • Some overtime may be required during peak times.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated human resources experience to include: recruitment, payroll, visa processing, student employment, onboarding, and other personnel processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in using online Timekeeping Systems, online Integrated personnel Information Systems, Payroll/Personnel Systems, and UC online systems. (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated strong customer service experience in human resources.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Windows operating systems and related business and communication software, and a demonstrated ability to learn and use various campus administrative computing systems and applications, including, but not limited to, but not limited to payrool and timekeeping systems, with the ability to update and expand skills as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a part of a collaborative team. Ability to prioritize deadlines & projects, including coordinating the efforts of multiple contributors, and establish time frames for completion of projects and assignments.
  • Willingness and ability to embrace and follow the UCSD Principles of Community. Ability to interact constructively and with sensitivity with staff, faculty, students, and community members, with diverse personalities and cultures, exercising sensitivity, tact and diplomacy with an emphasis on flexibility, customer service and professionalism
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing, including effective writing skills to prepare correspondence, various documents and reports, and email with knowledge of correct usage of English language, grammar, punctuation and spelling.

Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $61,429 - $88,030 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $29.42 - $42.16 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
