Head of Finance & Operations
Augmented Energy is building the next generation of energy operations for a more flexible, data-driven and decentralized electricity system. We operate at the intersection of electricity markets, forecasting, automation, supply, aggregation and risk management. Our work helps producers, suppliers and large energy consumers manage their exposure to complex electricity markets, while making operational processes more scalable, reliable and automated. We are now looking for a Head of Finance & Operations to structure, automate and scale our finance, administrative, legal and HR operations. This is not a purely corporate finance role. It is a hands-on, operational and strategic position for someone who wants to build the financial backbone of a fast-growing energy company. There is no team to lead as we prefer to rely on automation and AI. Tasks Finance, accounting and treasury Oversee accounting follow-up, cash monitoring, supplier payments, customer collections and direct debit processes. Coordinate with external accountants and ensure financial operations are reliable, traceable and scalable. Billing, revenue operations and credit risk Help create and supervise the billing process, monitor payments, follow overdue invoices and structure credit risk analysis. Help decide whether to integrate an external billing solution or improve internal systems. Reporting, P&L and consolidation Build analytical revenue tracking by client, activity, contract type and entity. Produce a monthly global P&L and support the consolidation of 3 to 4 group companies. Intercompany flows, tax and internal contracts Manage intercompany flows, internal contracts and related documentation. Support tax optimization and ensure consistency between legal, financial and operational structures. Contracts and legal operations Centralize customer, supplier and internal contracts, and track key dates, obligations and billing terms. Ensure contracts remain coherent with operations, invoicing and internal processes. HR and administrative operations Handle HR and administrative matters, including onboarding, offboarding and internal documentation. Improve existing workflows and automate repetitive HR and admin tasks where relevant. Automation and systems Improve Augmented Energy’s semi-automated finance and operations stack. Automate manual steps, connect tools and help build scalable internal processes with the technical team.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who combines financial rigor, operational pragmatism and a strong appetite for automation. You should be comfortable in a fast-moving environment where processes are not always fully structured yet, and where your role is to build them. You are likely to be a strong fit if you have: Previous experience in finance, accounting, audit, controlling, transaction services, CFO office, startup operations or a similar role. Strong understanding of accounting, cash management, billing, receivables and financial reporting. Ability to follow and challenge accounting work without needing to perform every accounting entry yourself. Good understanding of credit risk, customer payment risk and collection processes. Strong analytical skills and the ability to build useful P&L and revenue follow-up. Experience working with multiple legal entities or intercompany flows. Ability to structure contracts, administrative follow-up and internal processes. A hands-on mindset: you are willing to do the work before automating it. A strong interest in automation, tools, workflows and operational efficiency. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French is highly valuable. We are using Pennylane so knowledge of this platform is a big plus We are using python and not excel, so knowledge of it and/or willingness to learn it is paramount
