Job Summary About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Dispatcher to join our team in a unique role supporting both ambulance and Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) dispatch operations. In this position, you will work closely with a highly experienced team to coordinate patient transportation and support critical healthcare services within the community. This per diem opportunity is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, can work independently, and possess strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills. Whether supporting daytime or overnight operations, Dispatchers play a vital role in ensuring seamless service delivery and exceptional patient care. Schedule & Commitment This is a per diem position with a minimum commitment of one (1) 12-hour shift per month. Shift Options •12-hour shifts available on both days and overnights •Flexible start and end times based on operational needs and staff availability •Opportunities for additional shifts may be available This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative team with strong tenure while maintaining the flexibility to balance other professional and personal commitments. ________________________________________ What You’ll Do •Receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls from hospitals, patients, and healthcare providers. •Coordinate ambulance and MIH services by dispatching appropriate personnel and resources. •Accurately relay critical information, including patient details, locations, and call nature. •Collaborate with and follow up with MIH team members to ensure continuity of care and proper communication. •Input, track, and update mobile healthcare call data in real time. •Monitor response times and follow up on exceptions. •Maintain accurate dispatch logs and prepare reports for review. •Serve as a liaison between facilities, providers, and the healthcare team.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications/diplomas preferred. Experience: 1–2 years in emergency dispatching, EMS, or a related field strongly preferred. Skills & Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication. Ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure. Proficiency with dispatch software, GPS, and communication tools. Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the broader team.
