Billing Specialist- Home Health- Medicaid and commercial experience REQUIRED

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Specialist with a strong background in home health billing to join our team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience submitting claims to Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and Commercial payers and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. In this role, you will manage the full billing cycle for home health services — ensuring accurate, timely claim submission, compliance with payer requirements, and optimal revenue cycle performance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit medical claims using appropriate coding systems including CPT, ICD-10, and DRG classifications
• Bill across multiple payer types: Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, Commercial, and Managed Care plans
• Perform cash posting and generate billing reports
• Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and authorizations prior to and during claim processing
• Follow up on unpaid and denied claims, working proactively to resolve discrepancies and reduce AR aging
• Utilize EMR/EHR platforms to access patient information and process billing transactions; experience with Kinnser, HCHB, Axxess, Kantime, or Finale preferred
• Maintain accurate records of claim submissions, adjustments, payments, and billing activity for audit and compliance purposes
• Stay current with regulatory updates, coding changes, and payer policy revisions to ensure ongoing compliance and maximize reimbursement

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven home health billing experience is required; experience in behavioral health, palliative care, or hospice is a plus
• Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and home health agency workflows
• Demonstrated experience with medical collections and denial management
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, and/or private insurance payers

Pay: $18.50 - $22.00 per hour Work Location: Remote
