UK Practice Accountant

UK Practice Accountant (Accounts & Tax) Remote | South Africa Our client is a well-established UK accountancy and tax practice that supports a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, landlords and private individuals across the UK. They are seeking an experienced UK Practice Accountant to join their growing remote team. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong UK practice experience who enjoys a hands-on role and is looking to work closely with a supportive and professional team. The Role The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of UK clients and delivering high-quality accounts and tax services. The role is hands-on and requires strong technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts for UK limited companies, sole traders and

partnerships.

• Preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations and CT600 returns.
• Preparing and reviewing UK personal tax returns.
• Reviewing VAT returns and VAT control accounts.
• Liaising with clients to obtain information, resolve queries and provide updates.
• Supporting and reviewing work completed by junior team members where required.
• Working closely with the wider team to ensure deadlines and client expectations are met.
• Identifying technical issues and escalating matters where appropriate.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CA(SA), CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong UK accountancy practice experience is essential.
• Proven experience preparing statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, personal tax

returns and VAT returns.

• Good understanding of UK GAAP and UK tax legislation.
• Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and professional judgement.

Software Experience

• Xero and Microsoft Excel experience required.
• Experience with IRIS, Sage and QuickBooks would be advantageous.
• Comfortable working remotely using cloud-based systems and collaboration tools.
