Overview
We're looking for an experienced Digital Transformation Architect to support a senior technology transformation programme. This is not a traditional enterprise architecture role focused on documenting current state or producing technology assessments in isolation. The right person sits at the intersection of business strategy, process design, platform decisions, and AI enablement - able to connect these into a single, coherent transformation story. You'll work directly with senior stakeholders including the CTO and CEO as the lead technical voice on the engagement, shaping strategy, assessing opportunities, and defining a clear, governed path forward. This is a client-facing role requiring sharp consulting instincts, strong commercial awareness, and the confidence to give clear direction at board level.
Key Responsibilities
Assess business challenges and translate them into a practical transformation approach - connecting outcomes, process, platforms, and AI into one clear story Evaluate SaaS and enterprise platforms against business requirements, making clear and reasoned recommendations on whether to optimise, replace, or supplement existing capability Assess AI and automation opportunities through the lens of feasibility, data readiness, integration complexity, and risk - and explain the logic clearly to non-technical stakeholders Design governance frameworks and guardrails for AI-enabled workflows, including human-in-the-loop models Lead process and operating model assessment alongside technology assessment Define target-state architectures and transition roadmaps tied directly to business outcomes Lead workshops, discovery sessions, and executive-level discussions as the lead technical voice Develop business cases and investment recommendations for senior decision-makers Required Experience 10+ years in enterprise or digital transformation with a proven track record of client-facing delivery at CTO and CEO level Strong experience in process architecture and operating model assessment - not just technology architecture Hands-on AI and automation enablement, including assessing when native platform capability is sufficient versus when bespoke is needed, and governing AI-enabled workflows in practice Proven ability to evaluate SaaS and enterprise platforms - including Salesforce, ServiceNow, SAP, and Microsoft ecosystems - and make confident optimise/replace/supplement decisions Experience defining transition roadmaps and target operating models that connect technology change to measurable business outcomes Consulting or advisory background - comfortable as the sole technical lead in a senior client-facing engagement Able to structure ambiguity quickly, simplify complexity, and deliver sharp, board-ready outputs at pace Excellent communication skills at executive level, including with non-technical stakeholders Preferred Background Experience assessing AI opportunities end-to-end: opportunity framing, data readiness, feasibility, risk, and governance design Familiarity with agentic AI patterns and enterprise AI governance frameworks Background within a consulting firm, systems integrator, or technology services environment Relevant certifications in Enterprise Architecture, Cloud, or Technology Strategy Ideal Candidate You are a transformation architect, not just a technical architect. You think business-first, build the technical case around outcomes, and can hold a confident, clear conversation with a CTO or CEO without a team around you. You bring the depth to assess platforms and AI opportunities rigorously, the breadth to connect technology change to operating model design, and the consulting sharpness to deliver quality outputs under pace.
