Telecommunications Designer
The OpportunityA leading engineering and design firm supporting mission-critical and high-performance infrastructure is seeking a Telecommunications Designer to support large-scale data center projects. This is an opportunity to contribute to complex, high-impact environments where reliability, scalability, and performance are critical.Role OverviewIn this role, you will lead the design and planning of telecommunications and low voltage systems for data center and campus environments. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop detailed design documentation and ensure all systems meet industry standards from concept through construction and commissioning. This position combines technical design expertise with cross-functional coordination in highly complex project environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and plan telecommunications infrastructure for data center and campus environments, including fiber optic and copper systemsDevelop detailed design documentation such as floor plans, pathway layouts, rack elevations, and equipment schedulesProduce structured cabling designs, including high-density fiber and backbone distribution systemsCoordinate with engineering, architectural, and construction teams to ensure design integration and constructabilityPrepare and manage project documentation including specifications, standards, and design packagesSupport projects through construction, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittalsRequired QualificationsStrong experience in telecommunications or low voltage design, ideally within data center or mission-critical environmentsProven ability to develop detailed design drawings and documentation for structured cabling systemsExperience coordinating with multidisciplinary project teamsProficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD or RevitStrong communication, organization, and documentation skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with data center campus planning or large-scale infrastructure projectsRCDD or equivalent certification.Experience supporting construction administration or commissioning phasesBackground working on hyperscale, colocation, or mission-critical facilitiesWork EnvironmentHybrid or remoteCollaboration with national or distributed project teamsOccasional travel to project sites or client locationsCompensationBonus or incentive opportunitiesComprehensive benefits package including:Health, dental, and vision coverageRetirement savings planPaid time off and professional development supportIf this aligns with your background, feel free to apply or reach out to learn more.
