Staff Accountant (Remote)

Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working with numbers and contributing to a collaborative team? MEM Insurance is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting financial operations, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Analyze financial data and identify variances, trends, and discrepancies. Support the preparation of financial statements and internal reports for leadership. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper documentation and compliance with accounting policies. Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. Monitor and maintain general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness. Contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls. Support special projects and initiatives within the Finance department as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. 1–3 years of accounting or finance experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Experience working with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
