Sr. Tax Manager (Remote)
Title: Senior Tax Manager Location: Fully Remote KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the firm's primary technical tax resource, providing expert guidance on complex tax matters across a diverse client base
- Review approximately 450-550 tax returns annually; preparation is handled at more junior levels (less than 10% personal preparation work)
- Act as a sounding board for accounting-related questions from staff and managers
- Manage and develop 1-2 Tax Managers, fostering professional growth and ensuring quality standards
- Maintain strong, direct relationships with clients in a highly client-facing role requiring excellent communication and advisory skills
- Sign off on tax returns with full authority, with increasing autonomy as trust is established (or immediately for qualified candidates)
- Collaborate with firm leadership on technical matters, process improvement, and maintaining the firm's reputation for excellence
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Active CPA license (required)
- 10-15+ years of progressive public accounting experience
- Exceptional technical tax acumen with the ability to serve as a confident, go-to resource for the firm's tax practice
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams and develop talent
- Strong client-facing skills with a track record of building trusted advisor relationships
- Accounting knowledge sufficient to serve as a resource for staff questions
- Partnership-heavy tax experience preferred; industry agnostic
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with CCH tax software environment (or demonstrated ability to learn new platforms quickly)
- Experience in a leadership or practice-area leadership capacity
- Readiness to take on increasing responsibility with a trajectory toward partnership

COMPENSATION & HOURS Compensation is commensurate with experience, qualifications, and the value the candidate brings to the practice. Expected billable hours in the range of 1,400-1,600 annually (2,300-2,400 total hours), consistent with senior leadership expectations.
