Primary Responsibilities The Senior Business Analyst is a highly cross-functional role that intersects business analytics, reporting, and process improvement, working closely with the leadership team and the customer’s account team to deliver timely, accurate business intelligence that drives strategic decisions and profitability. This individual will be responsible for analyzing complex datasets, building dashboards, and reporting packages using Power BI, Syndicated data and SQL, and translating insights into strategic opportunities for both internal stakeholders and the customer. They will serve as a key liaison for the team ensuring data accuracy and consistency by designing and optimizing analytics processes. This individual should be a detail-oriented problem solver with a strong business mindset, excellent communication skills, and experience in business intelligence. Essential Functions DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ease decision-making by striving to provide full information at the point of decision; serve as a reliable, trusted, and fair channel for all stakeholders. Collect and analyze data, providing support, predictions, and accountability to the account team and customer. Build messaging and presentations to support the account team and customer. Prepare business analysis and reporting packages for internal and external users. Serve as the key liaison with the customer’s planning and analysis team. Prepare and deliver presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Assist with the design and delivery of reports and insights that analyze business functions and performance metrics. Assist cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions. Balance quick-turn ad hoc requests with longer-term, structured reporting projects — prioritizing based on business impact and communicating timelines clearly. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Demonstrated expertise in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modeling), Syndicated data, intermediate-to-advanced SQL, MS Office Suite (Excel, Access, Power Point), and familiarity with data warehouse concepts and data mining principles. Proven ability to work with large, complex datasets across multiple source systems and translate business needs into meaningful dashboards, presentations, and reporting that drive decisions. Knowledge using analytics to contribute to growth efforts, key business initiatives, and strategic decision-making with a strong data governance mindset. Proficiency with SPINS, IRI, and any other related Kroger specific data sets. Strong problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical abilities with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize based on business impact. Strong verbal and written communication and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Demonstrates financial acumen, collaboration, sense of urgency, and the ability to effectively manage complexity in a fast-paced environment. Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, travel by air, and stay overnight as needed to support position requirements. Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Business Intelligence, Finance, Accounting, or Supply Chain. Minimum of 4 years of experience in Business Analytics, Finance, or related field. Distributor and/or manufacturing experience a plus; food industry experience preferred. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, highly interactive environment, interfacing between customers and the organization to ensure productivity and efficiency.
