Short-form editor + content help for an electronic music artist/dj (TikTok/Reels)
I record DJ livestreams regularly and need an editor to mine those recordings for short vertical clips that pull new people into the project. The clips are the top of the funnel, so a clip that performs actually moves the whole thing forward. I'm currently doing all the editing and running the page myself, and I'm at capacity — so beyond the cutting, I'm looking for someone who can take real ownership of getting clips out the door and keeping the page alive. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Pull the strongest moments out of livestream recordings (I drop raw recordings in a shared Drive folder; you export finished clips back to an OUT folder).
- Cut vertical clips in whatever editor you're fastest in — I have a CapCut template if it's handy, but if you've got your own workflow, use it.
- Work in batches: pull several candidates from one stream and cut them in a session, rather than one at a time.
- Add clean on-screen text and track credits (I'll show you the conventions).
- Most clips fall into a few types: the artist's reaction on a drop, a clean mix transition, a music-forward atmospheric moment, or a "now playing" track ID.
HELP RUNNING THE PAGE This part can grow over time as I learn to trust your taste, but I'm looking for someone who can eventually:
- Draft captions, hashtags, and tags in the project's voice (clean and understated, never hype-y).
- Schedule and post clips on a consistent cadence so the page doesn't go quiet when I'm busy.
- Keep an eye on comments and DMs and flag anything that needs me.
- Notice what's performing and bring simple ideas for what to cut or post more of.
If you're stronger on the editing side than the page side (or vice versa), say so — I'd rather know where you shine. ✨ WHAT A GOOD CLIP FEELS LIKE
- It's clear this person actually plays — a hand on the decks, a real moment, not just a laptop and a logo.
- Electronic but warm. The groove has swing and texture, not cold or clinical.
- Range: travverse goes from late-night downtempo to a full uptempo banger. Both are the brand.
- Let the work speak. No hype, no overselling. The brand's whole tell is restraint.
NOT LOOKING FOR The hood-up, face-in-smoke "mysterious DJ" look, generic EDM neon and laser overload, manufactured "INSANE " energy a moment didn't earn, or copy-paste templates that could be any DJ. ✅ REQUIREMENTS
- Strong music-driven editing instinct — you cut to the energy and timing of the track and protect the groove.
- Solid with a modern editor (CapCut, Premiere, DaVinci, whatever you run) and quick to pick up a simple safe-zone workflow.
- Taste-level restraint and a clean hand with on-screen text and captions.
- Reliable and self-directed — I need someone I can hand things to, not someone I have to manage clip by clip.
- Comfortable asking a quick question instead of guessing.
➕ NICE TO HAVE
- You get DJ / electronic culture but avoid the clichés.
- Experience editing music or performance footage for retention on TikTok/Reels.
- Comfort running a social page — posting cadence, captions, light community management.
- An interest in building out the brand beyond clips — original content, both recorded and computer-generated (custom visuals, visualizers, generative / TouchDesigner-style work). I'm just starting to explore this and would love a video partner who's invested in growing the project into something real. Not required — I need someone to clip content first — but it's a big plus, and worth a premium for the right person.
SPECS: 1080×1920, 9:16 vertical, H.264 MP4. Clips run roughly 7–30s, up to 60s if it's earned.
