Our client, a government agency, is seeking a Senior SQL and Power BI Developer Apply today for consideration! Job Title: Senior SQL and Power BI Developer Location: Remote (Downey, CA 90242) Duration: 12 Months Pay range: $50 to $55 per hour (DOE) Job Description:
- Develop Power BI dashboards using advanced DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and performance optimization techniques.
- Design, build, and optimize SQL database solutions using PL/SQL and T/SQL.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes using Azure Data Factory and other ETL tools.
- Create interactive Power BI reports with row-level security and user-friendly visualizations.
- Perform data integration, transformation, and validation to ensure data quality and consistency.
- Optimize SQL queries, indexing, and partitioning strategies for high-performance data processing.
- Design and implement data warehouse models, including star and snowflake schemas with dimension hierarchies.
- Utilize scripting languages such as Python and Shell for ETL automation and data manipulation.
- Support data warehouse architecture, including data lakes, data marts, and staging environments.
- Ensure compliance with data security, governance, and data handling standards.
Qualifications:
- Strong experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards using advanced DAX and Power Query.
- Expertise in SQL, relational databases, and data modeling across Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and SSIS.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to gather business requirements and deliver impactful reporting solutions.
- Experience with data integration, transformation, and maintaining data quality.
- Proficiency in Python, Shell, or similar scripting languages for automation and data processing.
- Solid understanding of enterprise data warehouse architecture, including data lakes, marts, and staging.
- Knowledge of data security, governance, and compliance best practices.
- Experience optimizing query performance, indexing, and partitioning strategies.
- Ability to design and implement dimensional data models using star and snowflake schemas.
