Senior Python Engineer

Ciklum is looking for a Senior Python Engineer to join our team full-time in Ukraine. About the role: As a Senior Python Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. The team is focused on extending a leading digital consumer experience beyond its core application and onto external platforms such as WhatsApp, voice assistants, and emerging AI-powered assistants. The goal is to meet customers where they already are, enabling seamless interactions through conversational and agent-driven experiences. Whether a user wants to reorder a favorite meal via a messaging app, use a voice assistant to arrange dinner, or delegate ordering to a personal AI assistant, we are building the infrastructure that powers these experiences across multiple channels while maintaining a consistent, high-quality user experience. We are looking for a backend-focused engineer with demonstrated experience building and operating scalable systems in AWS. While experience with Python is strongly preferred, candidates with substantial Kotlin/JVM backend expertise and strong AWS knowledge will also be considered. Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver new products and features Expand existing solutions into new markets and support the integration of large-scale international platforms and operations Participate in agile development processes and contribute to technical decision-making Work closely with non-technical stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and priorities Communicate project progress, risks, and outcomes effectively to various audiences Take ownership of the services and components you develop, ensuring their reliability, scalability, and performance Manage project timelines and deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment Continuously invest in your professional growth and contribute to a culture of learning and improvement Requirements: Strong professional experience with Python (preferred) or Kotlin/JVM Deep backend engineering expertise, including designing, building, and operating production-grade services at scale Hands-on expertise with AWS serverless technologies, including AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM, CloudWatch) Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, and service reliability Experience working collaboratively within agile engineering teams What’s in it for you?
