With a strong reputation in the market, continued growth, and access to sophisticated analytics and actuarial resources, the firm is seeking a talented actuarial professional to join its expanding Health & Benefits practice.Position SummaryThe Senior Actuarial Consultant will serve as a strategic advisor to employer clients, providing actuarial analysis, healthcare cost projections, funding evaluations, and financial consulting support for a diverse portfolio of mid-market and large employer accounts.This role offers the opportunity to work directly with senior consultants, producers, and clients while helping organizations make informed decisions regarding healthcare strategy, plan design, and long-term cost management.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop healthcare cost projections, trend analyses, and claims experience reviews for employer clients.Analyze financial performance of self-funded, level-funded, and fully insured health plans.Support annual renewal strategies, budgeting exercises, and rate development.Perform claims analytics, utilization studies, risk assessments, and forecasting.Evaluate alternative funding arrangements and provide strategic recommendations.Assist clients with plan design modeling and contribution strategy development.Partner with health consultants, pharmacy consultants, and client service teams on complex client engagements.Present actuarial findings and recommendations to HR, Finance, C-suite executives, and benefits committees.Develop financial models supporting vendor evaluations, wellness initiatives, and healthcare cost-containment strategies.Stay current on industry trends, healthcare regulations, and emerging market developments.Qualifications4-10 years of health actuarial experience within a consulting firm, brokerage, carrier, health plan, or healthcare analytics organization.Progress toward ASA/FSA designation preferred.Strong understanding of employer-sponsored healthcare plans and funding mechanisms.Experience with healthcare claims analysis, forecasting, trend development, and underwriting.Advanced proficiency with Excel and actuarial modeling tools.Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.Ability to translate complex actuarial concepts into actionable business recommendations.Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.Preferred BackgroundsHealth & Benefits Actuarial ConsultantSenior Actuarial AnalystHealthcare ActuaryEmployee Benefits ActuaryConsulting ActuaryHealth Plan ActuaryHealthcare Financial ConsultantWhat the Company OffersOpportunity to work with a leading national brokerage and consulting firm.Exposure to sophisticated employer health and welfare engagements.Collaborative team environment with strong mentorship and career progression.Access to industry-leading analytics, consulting resources, and client relationships.Flexible remote or hybrid work environment.Clear path toward Consultant, Lead Consultant, and Practice Leadership opportunities.Competitive compensation and performance-based bonus program.
