[Remote] Welding Engineer — Robotic Welding Systems (Field / Customer-Facing), up to a base of 140 000$ USD
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Larouche Raymond Headhunters is a leading North American manufacturer of robotic and automated welding systems. They are seeking a Welding Engineer to act as the technical face of their technology in the field, responsible for post-commissioning training, weld-quality diagnostics, and technical support for customers.
Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced post-commissioning training in operation, programming, parameter optimization, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting so customers run their cells independently
- Diagnose and resolve weld-quality issues on-site, isolating root cause and adjusting parameters, procedures, and welding databases to restore quality and throughput
- Build, optimize, and maintain welding databases and welding procedures tuned to each customer's parts mix and quality requirements
- Provide responsive remote and on-site technical support, owning issues through to resolution
- Create and maintain training materials and technical documentation kept current with product and process changes
- Support Sales during technical reviews and assist commissioning and startup of new robotic welding cells, coordinating across Sales, Engineering, Commissioning, and Service teams
Skills
- Minimum 5 years hands-on experience operating, programming, optimizing, and maintaining robotic or automated welding systems (manual-welding-only or inspection-only experience does not qualify)
- Working knowledge of GMAW and FCAW welding processes applied to structural steel and heavy fabrication
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering Technology or a closely related field
- Demonstrated experience delivering technical training or presentations to operators or customers in an industrial setting
- Fluent English (spoken and written), sufficient to train customers live and author technical documentation and manuals
- U.S. work authorization, residence within 1.5 hours of a regional airport, valid passport, and willingness to travel 40 to 50 percent across the U.S., Canada, and internationally
- Hands-on experience with FANUC robots (such as Arc Mate) and offline or auto-programming welding software
- Building or optimizing welding databases and procedures
- Production experience in heavy-fabrication segments such as railcars, trusses, trailers, containers, or heavy machinery
- Supporting commissioning of new robotic welding cells
