[Remote] Travel Construction Manager (Civil Engineer)

Leidos is seeking a dynamic Travel Construction Manager (Civil Engineer) to support the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract. The role involves providing construction oversight for projects in coordination with various stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project scope, schedule, and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage large-scale construction projects and field operations, serving as the primary point of contact for contractors, engineers, and stakeholders
- Ensure contractor compliance with client safety policies, regulatory standards, and contract requirements through active field oversight and construction quality assurance
- Monitor construction progress, identify risks, track deviations, and resolve complex technical and construction challenges across multiple disciplines
- Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and work plans while supporting engineering coordination, constructability reviews, and field-driven design adjustments
- Support inspections, commissioning, and project closeout, including tracking and resolving punch list items
- Maintain accurate reports, as-built documentation, and communicate project status, risks, and updates to stakeholders
Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited) with 10+ years of experience in construction of commercial, industrial, or government facilities
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, plans/specifications, building materials, and applicable codes and quality standards
- Proven ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, engineers, and government stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and construction document review tools (e.g., Bluebeam or similar)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance, work flexible schedules (including nights/weekends), and meet travel requirements (valid driver's license and passport)
- Must be located in the eastern part of US
- 100% travel (including weekends) required
- Perform essential field duties in active construction environments, including navigating uneven terrain and varying environmental conditions
- Access elevated work areas using ladders and stairs (up to 12 flights), including in situations where elevators are unavailable or not in service
- Work in mechanical and equipment rooms with exposure to elevated noise levels and active construction conditions; occasionally lift and carry materials or equipment up to 25 pounds
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or progress toward licensure preferred
- Experience with design and project management tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project)
- Prior experience supporting FAA or government projects, including construction supervision or field oversight
