RISINGSUN TECHNOLOGIES is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Writer / Configuration Management Specialist to support engineering teams in the development, review, and maintenance of technical documentation for complex engineering projects within a highly regulated environment. The role involves producing and maintaining various technical documents while ensuring compliance with documentation standards and collaborating closely with engineers and subject matter experts.
Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, procedures, reports, manuals, presentations, and related project documents
- Ensure project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality expectations
- Review technical documents for formatting, consistency, grammar, compliance, and adherence to documentation standards
- Collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to develop new documentation and improve existing content
- Create standardized templates and user-friendly documentation formats for future publications
- Collect, analyze, and organize technical information from multiple sources to develop accurate documentation
- Coordinate document review cycles, manage approvals, and resolve review comments
- Maintain documentation repositories, websites, libraries, workflows, newsletters, and other assigned information systems
- Process engineering changes using approved data management and configuration management systems
- Maintain and update project schedules related to documentation activities
- Perform requirements traceability and publishing activities as required
- Support Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), document control, records management, and configuration management processes
- Provide training and guidance on configuration management functions when needed
Skills
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or an Associate's degree with ongoing Bachelor's studies and relevant technical writing experience
- Experience in technical writing within engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing, technology, or other regulated industries
- Experience creating technical documentation using information gathered from technical specifications, engineering teams, and subject matter experts
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word is required
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Experience using Adobe Acrobat or similar PDF editing software
- Strong written communication, editing, and proofreading skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience supporting projects in highly regulated industries such as nuclear, energy, aerospace, defense, government, or other advanced technology environments
- Knowledge of configuration management principles and document control processes
- Experience with electronic document publishing and document lifecycle management
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Professional/DC
- Experience using Microsoft Visio, Adobe Photoshop, or similar graphics applications
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
- Experience with document management platforms such as Documentum and Confluence
- Familiarity with regulatory and industry standards (ASME, IEEE, IEC, or similar)
- Knowledge of requirements traceability and engineering change management processes
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
