[Remote] Staff Mobile Engineer - Mobile Platform

They are seeking a Staff Mobile Engineer to build scalable mobile platform infrastructure that supports high-availability applications for millions of users across various industries.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable mobile platform infrastructure supporting high-availability applications
- Create foundational frameworks that enable efficient development across 20-25 engineering teams
- Optimize performance for diverse device types, including low-end Android devices
- Architect solutions for large-scale consumer mobile applications serving various industries
- Lead technical initiatives to reduce complexity and improve developer productivity
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
Skills
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of mobile development related experience
- Extensive experience with large-scale consumer mobile applications
- Proven track record building platform-level mobile infrastructure and frameworks serving millions of customers daily
- Strong expertise in mobile performance optimization and scalability
- Experience supporting multiple engineering teams through platform solutions
- Deep understanding of mobile architecture patterns and best practices
- React Native experience (our apps are primarily React Native-based)
- Experience with cross-platform mobile development
- A blend of experience from both fast-paced startup/entrepreneurial environments and large-scale big tech companies
- A track record of technical leadership in fast-growing companies
