Dice is a company seeking a Senior Data Center Project Manager to oversee equipment tracking and documentation for data center operations. The role involves managing the removal and installation of equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and collaborating with project teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Manage equipment tracking and documentation for legacy equipment removal and new equipment installation across two dedicated cages (fiber jumped between cages). Perform and oversee cross-connects and physical infrastructure changes
- Coordinate recovery, documentation, and secure destruction of decommissioned equipment
- Maintain accurate records of equipment location, status, and transition progress
- Collaborate closely with project teams, planning engineers, and stakeholders
- Ensure all activities comply with data center standards, safety protocols, and client requirements
Skills
- Hands-on experience in data center operations (Equinix, DRT, or similar environments strongly preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of telecom network infrastructure, fiber connectivity, and data center build/renovation processes
- Proven ability to manage complex rip-and-replace or migration projects
- Excellent customer relationship, communication, and documentation skills
- Data center lingo and operational fluency required
- Experience with equipment recovery, destruction, and chain-of-custody processes
