[Remote] Sr. Automation Solutions Engineer - Healthcare IT

The ABK Group, LLC is a healthcare technology company specializing in data lifecycle management, and they are seeking a Senior Automation Solutions Engineer for a remote opportunity. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that automate business processes and transform healthcare data.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom automation tools, frameworks, and utilities
  • Build solutions that automate repetitive manual processes and improve operational efficiency
  • Develop applications that transform structured and unstructured data into client-ready reports, exports, and deliverables
  • Create automated document generation processes, including PDF creation and formatting
  • Develop reusable components that support large-scale healthcare data projects
  • Extract, transform, validate, and reconcile data from multiple systems and formats
  • Build integrations between databases, web applications, APIs, and third-party platforms
  • Develop export automation workflows for CSV, Excel, PDF, JSON, XML, and other structured formats
  • Support healthcare data migration, archival, and reporting initiatives
  • Reverse engineer applications, workflows, APIs, and data structures when documentation is unavailable
  • Automate legacy workflows that rely on screen interaction, hotkeys, UI automation, or manual data entry
  • Troubleshoot complex software, automation, and data processing issues
  • Evaluate business processes and identify opportunities for automation and optimization
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and implementation guides
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver effective technical solutions
  • Provide technical guidance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in software development, automation engineering, systems integration, or a related technical discipline
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining custom automation solutions and software applications
  • Proficiency with AutoHotkey or other RPA/automation tools, plus JavaScript, C#, SQL, and PowerShell
  • Experience extracting, transforming, validating, and processing data from multiple sources and formats
  • Experience developing export automation, reporting tools, and document generation solutions, including PDF creation and manipulation
  • Experience building integrations using APIs, web services, databases, and third-party platforms
  • Experience automating workflows involving desktop applications, web applications, and legacy systems where APIs may be unavailable
  • Strong understanding of software development principles, object-oriented programming, and application architecture
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify opportunities for automation-driven process improvement
  • Ability to document technical solutions and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with healthcare data, EMR/EHR systems, or healthcare technology platforms
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, or other security and compliance frameworks
  • Experience supporting healthcare data migration, archival, or interoperability initiatives
  • Experience with screen scraping, OCR technologies, and UI automation
  • Experience reverse engineering applications, workflows, APIs, or proprietary data formats
  • Experience building reusable frameworks, libraries, or internal development tools
  • Experience mentoring junior developers or providing technical leadership on complex projects
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
