Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Women in Cleantech and Sustainability is seeking leadership roles for their FutureProof initiative, focusing on product development and operations. The positions involve building and improving APIs, managing operations, and ensuring the reliability of production systems while coordinating organizational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Build and improve APIs used by employees, partners, and the general public
  • Develop, maintain, and support backend systems that comprise our products
  • Work effectively with ambitious deadlines and frequent iteration of product features
  • Work closely with the insurance product team to define and solidify the requirements for new features and translate them into high-quality design and code
  • Solve challenging technical problems, due to scale of data, complexity of the domain, or cutting-edge ideas without clear prior art to lean on
  • Help improve code quality by developing unit, functional, and end-to-end tests, and automating them in our infrastructure
  • Build CI/CD systems to make the progression from written code to tested, deployed code a quick, seamless one
  • Architect systems for scalability and reliability, right-sizing them to be cost-effective as products grow
  • Ensure production systems are reliable and behave predictably, including by developing monitoring and debugging capabilities
  • Design and ship APIs used by employees, partners, and the general public
  • Take features from a rough idea to working software, iterating quickly and meeting ambitious deadlines
  • Work closely with the insurance product team to turn fuzzy requirements into clear, correct product behavior
  • Keep quality high by making sure your systems are tested as they change
  • Ensure systems follow best security practices to protect our customers’ private data
  • Monitor and debug production systems to ensure they’re behaving as expected
  • Have an important hand in everything FutureProof does and will help coordinate needs across our organization
  • Facilitate and strengthen personnel policies and processes such as new hire onboarding, performance management, and retention for our global, remote-first workforce
  • Manage corporate payroll, benefits, and HR administrative processes
  • Define a forward-thinking contracting process to position us for rapid growth
  • Assist with investor relations, legal and regulatory compliance
  • Coordinate internal document tracking and retention
  • Become a key contributor to FutureProof’s financial planning and analysis function
