[Remote] Social Media Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Meow Wolf is looking for a Los Angeles-based Social Media Manager to grow our brand’s social presence as we rapidly expand our footprint. The role involves shaping and executing a dynamic social media strategy, crafting engaging content, and driving local influencer efforts to enhance community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Support social media management across all Meow Wolf’s current and future owned social media channels
- Concept, write, edit, and publish compelling social media posts that bring the Meow Wolf universe to life in collaboration with the full social media team
- Maintain a consistent and vibrant social media tone and voice that reflects Meow Wolf’s unique brand personality—playful & imaginative, bold, curious and surreal– ensure all content feels authentic, engaging, and in line with our creative strategy and vision
- Support and execute local influencer efforts, including outreach, negotiation, and briefing
- Keep eyes on social strategy implementation across regional Meow Wolf locations
- Provide subject matter expertise and strategic guidance on content for local channels, ensuring cohesion while allowing for location-specific creativity
- Monitor performance of regional social content and optimize for impact
- Monitor key social media KPIs, analyze data, and adjust strategies to maximize engagement and growth
- Leverage insights to refine content performance, audience targeting, and platform approach
- Stay on top of emerging social media trends, tools, and best practices
- Work closely with the brand and local marketing teams and more to align social media efforts with larger brand initiatives
- Collaborate closely with paid digital teams for boosting organic efforts, ensure alignment of organic social strategy with paid campaigns, and other owned media channels (SEO, website blog, email marketing)
- Partner with PR/comms, brand studio, and narrative/exhibition teams to integrate social into larger campaigns and universe storytelling efforts
- Coordinate with community manager and guest experience team to ensure timely responses and proactive community engagement
- Assist with local LA content needs in concert with internal and external teams
Skills
- 3+ years of experience managing brand social media accounts with a proven track record of success. (2+ years marketing, advertising or agency experience in the attraction, entertainment, recreation facility, or other public space strongly preferred)
- Customer service & crisis management skills
- General knowledge of the Arts & Immersive Entertainment industry
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube
- Deep expertise in content creation and storytelling across formats, from sharp, compelling copy to multimedia content and narratives that genuinely connect with audiences
- Solid social video production and editing skillset
- Experience working on creator campaigns with the ability to identify the right voices, write creator briefs, and execute creative that feel authentic
- Comfortable appearing (at times) on camera
- A master collaborator. You thrive in cross-functional environments, working closely with creative teams, regional marketers, and brand stakeholders
- A lover of the weird, wild, and wonderful. Ideally, you are someone who already loves Meow Wolf, or are at least familiar. You recognize Meow Wolf is not a typical brand and you're excited to push the boundaries of what's possible in social media
