[Remote] Senior User Experience Designer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. StockIQ Technologies builds supply chain planning software for distributors, wholesalers, and manufacturers. They are seeking a Senior User Experience Designer to own the design system and create AI-forward workflows that enhance the user experience for supply chain planners.
Responsibilities
- Own the StockIQ design system end-to-end: Figma library, tokens, patterns, and the React component library engineers consume, kept in lockstep with code
- Design AI-forward experiences: forecasts that explain themselves, recommendations users can accept or override in one click, and agents that draft the boring work so planners can focus on judgment
- Set the bar for how AI shows up across the product: prototype patterns, write the guidelines, and ship the reference implementations
- Tame complex, configurable surfaces using progressive disclosure, smart defaults, and patterns that scale across hundreds of settings, multi-step workflows, and role-based behavior
- Lead a refresh of the StockIQ brand guide: typography, color, voice, iconography, and marketing-to-product consistency
- Make the brand system live beyond a PDF and show up consistently in-app; marketing owns campaigns and collateral and will use your guide as the source of truth
- Run customer research, usability testing, and planner interviews directly with supply chain users
- Run the design craft on the team: prototyping, design reviews, and critique — raising the floor and the ceiling of design quality
Skills
- 6+ years of product design experience, with most of it in B2B SaaS shipping to real customers
- Portfolio of complex, configurable systems — admin consoles, planning tools, analytics platforms, data-heavy workflows, or operational software (not primarily marketing sites or consumer apps)
- Demonstrated ownership of a design system that shipped: tokens, theming, component API design, documentation, and contribution models
- Hands-on experience inside a code component library (Storybook, shadcn/ui, MUI, Radix, or similar); able to read and write enough React to file a meaningful PR
- Built a brand guide before — not just followed one — with a clear rollout and tangible changes that came out of it
- Daily use of modern AI tools in your own workflow (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, v0, Figma Make, Midjourney, or similar) with real opinions about what good AI UX looks like versus hype
- Shipped or prototyped AI features in a product, and treat AI as a design material rather than a feature to bolt on
- Expert-level Figma; comfortable prototyping in code or AI tools when it's faster than static mocks
- Strong communicator: can defend a design decision to an engineer, explain a tradeoff to a CEO, and interview a supply chain planner without making them feel stupid
- Experience with supply chain, ERP, WMS, or operational B2B domains where the user is a power user and the stakes are real money
- Background in data visualization, dense tables, or planner-style UI
- Prior experience leading a brand refresh or rebrand end-to-end
- Prior remote experience
