[Remote] Senior PeopleSoft HCM Technical Developer (Higher Education Domain)

KAPITAL is seeking an experienced Senior PeopleSoft HCM Technical Developer to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of the PeopleSoft HCM ERP system. The role involves designing and developing complex technical solutions, providing advanced production support, and collaborating with various teams to ensure adherence to best practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, customize, and maintain PeopleSoft HCM applications, with primary focus on:
- Payroll for North America
- Time and Labor
- Absence Management
- Develop high-quality, scalable, and defect-free technical solutions following PeopleSoft and industry best practices
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical design specifications
- Design, code, test, debug, deploy, and maintain complex PeopleSoft applications and enhancements
- Develop and support Application Engine programs, PeopleCode, Component Interfaces, Integration Broker services, SQRs, BI Publisher reports, and SQL/PLSQL objects
- Collaborate closely with functional analysts, business users, subject matter experts, and project teams to deliver technical solutions
- Participate in full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design documents, technical specifications, migration plans, and test plans
- Perform impact analysis and recommend technical solutions for system enhancements and production issues
- Review existing processes and identify opportunities for system optimization and automation
- Implement security best practices within PeopleSoft development
- Participate in code reviews and enforce development standards
- Support configuration migrations using STAT, PHIRE, or similar migration tools
- Assist with data conversion, data migration, and system implementation activities
- Develop integration solutions between PeopleSoft and external applications using Integration Broker and web services
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior developers when required
- Provide advanced production support for the PeopleSoft HCM environment
- Participate in scheduled on-call support rotations
- Investigate and resolve production issues and system defects
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues
- Troubleshoot data issues and perform data corrections
- Monitor batch processes and interfaces
- Assess, prioritize, and triage incidents
- Escalate critical issues appropriately
- Design permanent technical solutions to eliminate recurring production problems
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 7+ years of hands-on PeopleSoft HCM technical development experience
- Experience working on at least two large-scale PeopleSoft HCM implementation projects supporting multiple business units or campuses
- Extensive experience supporting enterprise PeopleSoft HCM environments
