Remote Senior Logistics Coordinator
Baltimore, Maryland, US Our client, a fast-paced and expanding logistics provider, is seeking a dedicated Remote Senior Logistics Coordinator to manage and optimize their transportation operations. This is a fully remote position, enabling you to work from home while making a significant impact on our supply chain efficiency. You will be responsible for coordinating the movement of goods, managing carrier relationships, tracking shipments, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a comprehensive understanding of logistics processes.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage all aspects of the shipping and receiving process, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Plan and optimize transportation routes and schedules for domestic and international shipments. Select and manage relationships with carriers, negotiating rates and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met. Track and trace shipments in real-time, providing updates to internal teams and customers. Identify and resolve any logistical issues or delays promptly and effectively. Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation, including bills of lading, customs forms, and proof of delivery. Utilize logistics software and systems to manage inventory, shipments, and carrier performance. Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, customs requirements, and company policies. Collaborate with warehouse, sales, and customer service teams to ensure seamless end-to-end supply chain operations. Analyze logistics data to identify trends and recommend improvements to operational processes. Provide support and guidance to junior logistics team members. Prepare reports on key logistics metrics and performance indicators.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator or similar role, with a strong focus on transportation management. In-depth knowledge of shipping procedures, carrier operations, and logistics software (e.g., TMS, ERP systems). Excellent understanding of supply chain principles and best practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a remote setting. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Experience with international shipping and customs regulations is a plus.
