[Remote] Senior AI Clinical Implementation Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Basalt Health is building tools that help healthcare teams work faster and smarter. The Senior AI Clinical Implementation Manager will engage with clinical teams to translate clinical judgment into AI-driven rules and ensure optimal patient placements through data analysis and on-site collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Spend two days at an LTACH mapping exactly how their intake team decides who gets admitted today and where the bottlenecks and judgment calls live
- Translate fuzzy, experience-based clinical reasoning into explicit, testable admission and level-of-care rules our AI can apply
- Build the medical-necessity and level-of-care logic for a new behavioral health customer going live, grounded in frameworks like ASAM, LOCUS/CALOCUS, InterQual, or MCG
- Review a quarter of AI placement and admission recommendations against actual patient outcomes, and tune the rules where they drifted
- Run a root-cause when the model recommended something a clinician wouldn't have, figure out whether it's the data, the rule, or the model, and fix it
- Sit with a customer's clinical and UM leadership to align on appropriateness criteria and defensible documentation
- Feed everything you learn in the field back to our engineering and AI teams so the next facility onboards faster
Skills
- A clinical background (such as a current or former RN, LCSW, LPC, or LMFT license) and hands-on experience in post-acute or behavioral health
- Familiarity with areas like admissions, utilization review, case management, or clinical operations
- Customer-facing range. You can earn the trust of a skeptical Medical Director in the morning and a frontline intake nurse in the afternoon
- Comfort with ambiguity. Our customers don't hand you a spec. You diagnose the real problem before you solve it
- A data instinct. You want to know whether the rule actually improved outcomes, and you're not satisfied by anecdote
- Willingness to work shoulder-to-shoulder with AI. You don't need to write code, but you'll be configuring, testing, and stress-testing AI behavior daily, and you're curious about how it works and where it fails
- Willingness to travel. Expect meaningful time on-site at customer facilities across the US
- Behavioral health, LTACH, or IRF admissions/UM experience specifically
- Background building or running clinical rules engines, UM criteria, or care pathways
- Familiarity with EHRs in this space (Kipu, Netsmart, Meditech, Cerner)
- You've been the clinician in the room when a new technology rolled out and you know why most of them fail to land
- Comfort reading dashboards, and cohort outcomes
Benefits
- Competitive salary + equity
- Health insurance (medical, dental, vision, rx)
- Remote-first, async-friendly culture
- Travel covered, of course
- Small team, low bureaucracy, high ownership—your work changes who gets care and how fast
