[Remote] Senior Accountant

Sentara Health is a healthcare organization seeking a Senior Accountant to prepare, analyze, and adjust financial statements for management presentation. The role involves creating work papers, reviewing financial indicators, and assisting with year-end audits and financial analysis projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, research, and adjust financial statements for management presentation
- Creates relevant work papers, schedules, and reconciliations
- Review and comprehend financial indicators and results of operations, significant operational statistics, variances from budget and historical results
- Research technical accounting and financial reporting issues, and assist with ad hoc financial analysis and projects
- This position assists in preparation and coordination of year-end audits
Skills
- Bachelor Level Degree (Required with concentration in Finance or Accounting)
- 1 year Accounting or Finance experience required
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration will be considered in lieu of required experience
- CPA preferred, but not a requirement
- Previous experience with Gifts and Grants preferred
- Strong Excel skills
- Previous Healthcare experience preferred
