[Remote] SAP S/4 MDG Functional Analyst (Open to Remote)

Penguin Random House is the leading adult and children's publishing house in North America, and they are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA MDG Consultant to design, implement, and support master data governance solutions. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality, consistent, and compliant master data across the enterprise, supporting business processes and analytics.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement SAP MDG solutions for domains such as:
- Business Partner (Customer/Vendor)
- Material Master
- Finance (Chart of Accounts, Cost Centers)
- Configure data models, UI, workflows, and business rules in MDG
- Define and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and standards
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define master data processes and approval workflows
- Implement data validation, derivation rules, and duplicate checks
- Integrate MDG with SAP S/4HANA and other systems
- Support data replication using DRF (Data Replication Framework)
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance across systems
- Perform data migration and data cleansing activities
- Support testing (SIT, UAT) and resolve defects
- Provide end-user training and documentation
- Monitor and troubleshoot data governance processes and workflows
Skills
- 5+ years of SAP experience with hands-on MDG implementation
- Strong knowledge of SAP MDG architecture and frameworks
- Strong knowledge of master data domains (BP, Material, Finance)
- Experience with data modeling in MDG
- Experience with BRF+ (Business Rule Framework Plus)
- Experience with DRF (Data Replication Framework)
- Experience with workflow configuration
- Understanding of S/4HANA data models and business processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- SAP MDG or S/4HANA certification
- Experience with Central Finance or multi-system landscapes
- Knowledge of SAP Fiori/UI5 applications
- Experience with data migration tools and ETL processes
- Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology
