[Remote] Remote Release Engineering Manager - AI Ecosystem
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Motorola Mobility, a Lenovo Company, is seeking a Remote Release Engineering Manager for their AI Ecosystem team. This role will lead the planning and execution of software releases, ensuring low-risk and predictable outcomes while collaborating with various teams to align releases with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end release planning, coordination, and execution for complex multi-platform software programs (Android and Windows)
- Own release calendar management, cross-functional milestone alignment, and executive-level reporting
- Manage branching strategies, versioning models, and multi-line codebase integrations across global teams
- Drive release automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve predictability
- Maintain a robust Release Management pipeline for Continuous Integration with automation capabilities
- Coordinate go/no-go decisions, rollback strategies, and post-release retrospectives
- Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and quality standards during release cycles
- Collaborate with Product, QA, SRE, DevOps, and Program Management to align releases with product roadmaps and business objectives
Skills
- 5+yrs of Experience as a People Manager handling Release Engineering
- 15+yrs of Experience with Release Engineering at an enterprise scale
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- Strong governance, risk management, and process‑driven mindset
- Experience leading enterprise‑scale release and Change Management functions
- Solid understanding of software systems and delivery lifecycles across Mobile (Android), Windows and RTOS systems
- Excellent executive communication and cross‑functional leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Cultural Competency working across Chinese, Desi, American, European, and South American cultural contexts, ensuring messages are communicated with clarity and tact
- Experience with Cursor or AI tools is a plus
- Experience supporting development of LLM-based or Agentic AI systems desired
- Master's degree or higher in a relevant field is a plus
