[Remote] Remote | Energy & Real Property Legal Review Consultant — $40–$120/hour
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. 24-MAG is offering a specialized part-time consulting opportunity for U.S.-based legal professionals with expertise in real estate and energy law. The role involves reviewing and annotating legal documents, providing citation-backed analysis, and ensuring high-quality project execution in a remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Review and annotate energy, real property, land, title, and transactional legal documents against detailed written instructions
- Work with documents such as leases, easements, deeds, conveyances, title materials, interconnection agreements, and similar instruments
- Identify relevant provisions, obligations, rights, restrictions, ambiguities, and document-based conclusions
- Apply consistent legal or document-review judgment across multiple assignments and flag ambiguous issues for senior review where needed
- Provide detailed determinations supported by document citations, page references, and relevant quoted language
- Explain reasoning clearly in natural language, connecting each conclusion to the supporting document text
- Evaluate whether AI-generated legal analysis is accurate, well-supported, complete, and aligned with the underlying document
- Identify unsupported conclusions, missing provisions, incorrect interpretations, weak reasoning, or incomplete legal analysis
- Quality-check legal review outputs and help identify inconsistencies, omissions, or reasoning gaps
- Support resolution of review disagreements or escalation issues when appropriate for senior contributors
- Collaborate through structured workflows designed to assess and improve legal reasoning outputs
- Follow detailed task instructions, quality criteria, and project-specific review standards accurately
Skills
- Experience in real estate law, energy law, land use, title review, property transactions, energy project development, or similar legal or transactional workflows
- Comfort independently reading leases, easements, deeds, conveyances, interconnection agreements, and related legal instruments
- Strong ability to locate relevant document language and cite supporting text accurately
- Excellent written communication skills and ability to explain legal or document-review reasoning clearly
- High attention to detail and ability to apply consistent judgment across many documents
- Comfort working independently in a remote, project-based environment
- Strong discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive project materials
- JD from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school is highly relevant for attorney-level roles
- Active U.S. bar license in good standing may be required for attorney-level assignments
- Paralegal, land, title, energy, or real estate transaction experience may be relevant for specialist-level assignments
- Professional experience in real estate, energy, land use, title, oil and gas, solar, wind, transmission, infrastructure, or related transactional practice may support project fit
- Relevant contributors may be calibrated across specialist, associate, senior associate, or partner-level review tracks depending on experience and screening results
- Experience with energy projects such as oil and gas, solar, wind, transmission, battery storage, interconnection, or infrastructure development
- Familiarity with wholesale power markets, RTOs, ISOs, utility agreements, or project development documentation
- Experience reviewing title materials, land agreements, easements, site control documents, leases, deeds, or conveyancing instruments
- Prior experience with legal annotation, contract review, due diligence, legal research, document summarization, or quality-check workflows
- Ability to review the work of other contributors and help resolve document interpretation disagreements
- Experience completing structured skills assessments, calibration exercises, or rubric-based legal review tasks
