[Remote] Project Manager - NCPDP

Insight Global is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager with strong NCPDP experience to lead complex healthcare technology initiatives. The role involves managing large-scale projects related to pharmacy claims and regulatory compliance, ensuring timely delivery while adhering to healthcare standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex IT projects supporting healthcare, Medicaid, PBM, or pharmacy systems
- Manage multiple concurrent workstreams, project timelines, dependencies, risks, and deliverables
- Utilize Waterfall project management methodologies to drive structured project execution and governance
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, resource allocations, and status reporting using tools such as Microsoft Project
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including software engineers, developers, architects, QA teams, business analysts, and external vendors
- Facilitate requirements gathering, solution design reviews, UAT planning, test execution, defect management, and production deployment activities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders, customers, and executive leadership
- Manage project governance activities including steering committee meetings, status reporting, risk mitigation, and escalation management
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, HIPAA requirements, and NCPDP standards where applicable
- Create and manage project artifacts including project charters, requirements documentation, test plans, implementation plans, and executive presentations
- Drive stakeholder alignment across technical and business teams while ensuring project objectives are met
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field
- 7+ years of IT Project Management experience managing enterprise technology implementations
- Hands-on experience managing projects involving NCPDP standards, pharmacy claims processing, PBMs, Medicaid, Medicare, or healthcare payer systems
- Strong experience managing multiple simultaneous workstreams and complex cross-functional initiatives
- Proven experience working directly with software developers, engineers, architects, QA teams, and technical stakeholders
- Extensive experience utilizing Waterfall SDLC methodologies
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, risks, issues, and vendor relationships
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience creating executive-level status reports and project documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and related project management tools
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification – Required or strongly preferred
- Experience with Medicaid modernization, Denti-Cal, healthcare claims adjudication, or PBM implementations
- Familiarity with NCPDP D.0 and F6 transaction standards
- Familiarity with Pharmacy claims processing
- Familiarity with Eligibility and benefits verification
- Familiarity with Prior authorization workflows
- Familiarity with Coordination of Benefits (COB)
- Familiarity with HIPAA-compliant healthcare integrations
- Experience working in a client-facing consulting or vendor environment
