[Remote] Private Markets Regional Business Development Professional, Canada

The role involves developing and managing key institutional relationships within the Canadian markets, focusing on delivering holistic, multi-asset class solutions across alternatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development and relationship management with institutional investors, family offices, OCIO, and private wealth platforms within the Canadian market
• Develop and execute a regional growth strategy targeting new LP relationships and deepening existing ones
• Serve as the primary interface with prospective clients, crafting and delivering presentations, proposals, and strategic insights
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across research, investment, operations, and client advisory teams to deliver seamless and insightful client experiences
• Stay abreast of evolving market trends, fund strategies, and client needs to position Aksia’s offerings competitively and credibly

Skills

• 8–12+ years of experience in investor relations, business development, or institutional sales with a focus on alternative investments
• Deep knowledge of and exposure to one or more alternative strategies: private equity, private credit, hedge funds, real assets, or real estate
• Demonstrated success cultivating LP relationships across the Canadian institutional and/or private wealth channels
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to independently manage multiple complex client engagements and internal workstreams
• High degree of initiative, integrity, and commercial acumen
• Regional fluency and cultural awareness within the coverage area
• Willingness to travel as needed to build and maintain client relationships
• Effective writing and communication skills in English and a regional language is a plus
