They are seeking a Principal Product Manager, Payments to own the strategy and roadmap for their payments platform, ensuring alignment with market insights and customer needs while driving product development and execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of leasing payment related workflows, critical dates, rent calculations, CPI based Indexation, clauses, amendments, renewals, and compliance obligations
- Engage in partnership with the Sales, CDE & Marketing teams to understand customers’ real-world problems and constraints
- Translate customer pain points into clear problem statements and outcome-driven product opportunities
- Monitor the competitive landscape and evolving leasing regulations to inform product strategy
- Help define and evolve product vision and roadmap based on market evidence, customer value, and technical feasibility
- Prioritize initiatives using impact, risk, and effort - balancing customer needs, revenue goals, and platform scalability
- Align roadmap decisions with business objectives such as retention, expansion, operational efficiency, and revenue growth
- Own the product backlog for one or more engineering teams
- Write clear, user stories and acceptance criteria (edge cases and dependencies included)
- Partner with engineering and QA to design and verify solutions that scale across large lease portfolios and complex data relationships
- Make informed tradeoffs between speed, flexibility, and technical debt
- Serve as a decision-maker for the team - unblocking engineers quickly and confidently
- Validate solutions during development to ensure they meet leasing use cases and customer expectations
- Ensure features ship with the quality, reliability, and observability required for a mission-critical system
- Work closely with Sales, CDE & Marketing to ensure features support real leasing workflows
- Support go-to-market efforts with demos, product narratives, and internal enablement
- Provide clarity and transparency to leadership on priorities, timelines, and tradeoffs
Skills
- 8-12+ years in product management, with at least 3-4 years in a Principal Product Manager or Director of Product Management role
- Proven track record of managing and shipping B2B SaaS products with complex data models (multi-tenant architectures, financial calculations, or compliance-driven workflows)
- Experience working with or alongside enterprise sales cycles, translating complex buyer requirements into scalable product decisions
- Hands-on familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery (writing stories, running refinement, and owning a backlog end-to-end, not just observing)
- Strong written communication - your user stories and acceptance criteria leave no ambiguity; engineers and QA can work from them without chasing you down
- Structured prioritization thinking - you can defend sequencing decisions with evidence, not just instinct, and push back constructively when asked to do everything at once
- Customer empathy at scale - you can synthesize patterns across many customer conversations without over-indexing on any single loud voice
- Comfortable with ambiguity - you operate well in a fast-paced environment where process is still maturing and you're often building the plane while flying it
- Commercially aware - you understand how product decisions connect to retention, expansion revenue, and sales cycles not just user satisfaction
- Cross-functional influencer - you earn trust with engineering, sales and CS without relying on authority; you move people by being well-prepared and credible
- Domain experience in real estate, lease administration, or proptech strongly preferred
- Accounting software (ASC 842 / IFRS 16 compliance) is a meaningful plus
- Prior exposure to API-first or integration-heavy platforms (ERP, accounting or payments integrations a plus)
