[Remote] Operations & Finance Analyst
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. LAGO is a global organization seeking an Operations & Finance Analyst to manage the financial and operational backbone of their teams. The role involves overseeing payroll, tax payments, and operational reporting while serving as a central coordination point for managed entities.
Responsibilities
- Run biweekly payroll across our deployed teams, partnering with managers to get it accurate and on time
- Prepare and process tax payments accurately and on schedule
- Produce biweekly client invoices
- Maintain backup payroll and invoice-preview files
- Reconcile payroll and billing, and keep GAAP/billing documentation organized and audit-ready
- Pull the information needed to create contracts from source files and support contract creation
- Update daily attendance flagging exceptions for manager review
- Maintain team rosters as new team members join, including sensitive fields managers do not have access to
- Refresh the Springboard Dashboard each week ahead of the leadership meeting
- Build and own the Capacity Plan
- Produce ad-hoc reports and analyses as projects require
- Proactively surface insights from our operational and financial data and make recommendations to leadership
- Act as the central coordination point for our managed entities. One to two today, with more on the way
- Drive onboarding and offboarding processes for team members end to end
- Coordinate facilities needs
- Liaise with our local attorney and accountant partners. Routing items, following up, and keeping things on track, while escalating major legal or financial decisions to leadership
- Find better ways for us to operate and put them in place, streamlining and automating repetitive work wherever you can
Skills
- 3–6 years of experience blending data analysis and project management or coordination
- Solid finance literacy: hands-on comfort with payroll, invoicing, basic accounting and GAAP concepts, and tax-payment workflows. A formal accounting degree is not required, but demonstrated finance-operations experience is
- Advanced Google Sheets / Excel skills — pivot tables, complex formulas, and clean dashboards — paired with an automation mindset
- Strong written English and clear, comfortable spoken English for live coordination with US stakeholders and external partners
- Working US hours 8:00-4:30 MST
- Highly proactive and detail-oriented, with sound judgment and discretion handling sensitive payroll and personnel data
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, data, or a related field preferred — equivalent hands-on experience accepted
- QuickBooks experience
- Experience with Deel and/or Cadana
- Experience with global contractor payroll and/or international entity operations
- Automation and scripting experience (e.g., Google Apps Script, macros) and familiarity with modern AI tools for streamlining work
- SQL and/or a BI tool (Looker, Power BI, Tableau)
- Availability across full US business hours
