[Remote] Network Planning Engineer I
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Scalence L.L.C. is seeking a Network Planning Engineer I to join their Core National Network Transport Planning organization. The role involves supporting the development of network growth plans and creating planning packages for implementation by engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Judicious management and creation of all capital and expense budget approvals associated with the assigned project, manifested through a monthly current estimate of expenditures on each funding package created
- Mentoring and training to peers, clients, and employees of lesser experience and knowledge relative to transport planning and engineering
- Reflecting a high level of professionalism in all activities and exhibiting a correspondingly high work ethic
- Handling generally short-term projects, 1-6 months, and may involve some project management skills and leadership
Skills
- Basic relevant engineering and/or planning experience in areas including interdisciplinary network transport, SONET, wave division multiplexing, central office common systems (power, common terminations, office infrastructure, alarms), outside plant, and general telecommunications engineering principles
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local regulations that govern the placement of Telecommunication Equipment
- Knowledge of network transport planning processes and associated data analysis principles, including capacity management
- Practical technical experience working in the related function
- Experience with mechanized systems designed to support transport planning and engineering processes, including the Trunk Inventory Record Keeping System (TIRKS), CNDC ASPEN Portal, LCAM, Metasolv, Fireworks, and CORE or equivalent engineering systems
- Competent computer skills
- Accomplished written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Patience in aiding less-experienced individuals
- Practical negotiation skills
- 1-2 years of experience
