[Remote] Merger Integration/IMO Program Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. MBO Partners is seeking an experienced Merger Management Office (MMO) / Integration Management Office (IMO) Program Manager to support a complex financial services transformation initiative. The role involves leading the integration management office, developing integration plans, and coordinating activities across various business and technology workstreams to ensure successful merger integration.
Responsibilities
- Establish and lead the Integration Management Office / Merger Management Office for enterprise merger or transformation initiatives
- Develop and manage the master integration plan across business and technology workstreams
- Coordinate Day 1 readiness, post-close integration, and post-merger stabilization activities
- Partner with executive leadership, PMO teams, functional leaders, and technology teams to drive integration priorities
- Establish governance structures, steering committees, decision-making processes, and executive reporting routines
- Track integration milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, resource needs, and budget considerations
- Maintain RAID logs and drive escalation/resolution of cross-functional issues
- Prepare executive status updates, steering committee materials, and board-level presentations
- Monitor integration progress through KPIs, dashboards, and other reporting tools
- Support integration activities across banking operations, lending, deposits, treasury management, digital banking, branch operations, finance, compliance, risk, HR, IT, vendor management, and customer experience
- Coordinate with compliance, risk, audit, information security, data privacy, and business continuity teams as needed
- Partner with change management teams to support communications, stakeholder engagement, organizational readiness, and adoption
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience leading enterprise PMO, IMO, MMO, M&A integration, or large-scale transformation initiatives
- Demonstrated experience managing merger, acquisition, or post-merger integration programs
- Experience supporting financial services organizations, including retail banks, credit unions, regional banks, or similar institutions
- Strong understanding of banking operations, financial institution governance, and regulatory considerations
- Experience coordinating complex, cross-functional programs involving business, operations, technology, finance, risk, and compliance stakeholders
- Proven ability to present to executive leadership, steering committees, and senior stakeholders
- Strong program governance, issue/risk management, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
