[Remote] Managing Consultant, Healthcare IT Advisory
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Managing Consultant, Healthcare IT Advisory. This role focuses on supporting healthcare payer advisory engagements, including infrastructure cost optimization and executive technology strategy, while partnering with senior consulting leaders and client executives.
Responsibilities
- Lead & support infrastructure assessments across cloud (AWS/Azure), networking, data centers, software, tooling, and operating models to identify cost optimization and modernization opportunities
- Analyze infrastructure spend, contracts, cloud usage, and labor models to develop prioritized cost reduction strategies and implementation roadmaps
- Evaluate infrastructure resiliency, disaster recovery, business continuity, observability, and operational risk while recommending improvements
- Support healthcare payer CIOs and executive leadership by developing business cases, decision frameworks, migration scenarios, and strategic recommendations for infrastructure and core administrative platform initiatives
- Assess vendor portfolios, negotiate technology contracts, benchmark pricing, and recommend vendor consolidation or sourcing strategies
- Design future-state technology operating models that leverage automation and AIOps while improving efficiency and reducing operational costs
- Contribute to client engagements by presenting recommendations, supporting SOW development, defining project scope, and participating in business development activities
Skills
- 10+ years of experience in healthcare technology, with significant experience supporting healthcare payer organizations
- Deep knowledge of healthcare payer operations, including claims, enrollment, provider data, utilization management, member-facing systems, and core administrative platforms
- Experience supporting or advising executive leadership on enterprise technology strategy, infrastructure modernization, cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure), vendor management, and core administrative platform evaluations
- Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture, cloud environments, networking, disaster recovery/business continuity, automation, observability, and IT operating models
- Experience leading or supporting vendor evaluations, contract negotiations, competitive sourcing, and technology investment decisions
- Proven ability to synthesize complex technical and business information into executive-level presentations, recommendations, and decision frameworks
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- PMP, ITIL, AWS, Azure, or similar certifications are a plus
- Previous experience with a management consulting or healthcare IT advisory firm, or in a senior technology leadership role within a healthcare payer organization
